Boys Are Stoopid!. Ah yes, this was one of my favourite scenes in  Half-Blood Prince. Ron starts having sloppy make-outs with Lavender Brown to kind of make Hermione jealous, which he does a little too well, as a heart broken and ticked off Hermione sics a small flock of conjured canaries on his ass. I decided that this moment would work well as a vehicle in which to experiment in drawing in a more chibi style since chibi is often used in comics to represent childish behaviour, and here Ron and Hermione both take their whole I-like-you-but-won't-admit-it thing to petty and childish depths. I haven't even attempted proper chibi in positively ages, and I think this looks okay for my first try in forever. I read some short tutorials online and referenced how some other people do things, but in the end I ended up swiping Ron's pose from a rollerblading girl I found on DeviantArt (however Hermione is all mine). Their hair looks a little... off. I'm not sure why I had such problems with it, but there you have it. I purposefully left off the cloak clasps I usually draw on the Hogwarts uniforms for the simple reason that as chibis the place where they go was too small and it looked cluttered. It was a weird coincidence that I wasn't sure what colour Ron's eyes were and was this close to making them brown like Ginny's when I happened to read a chapter in Deathly Hallows that describes them as blue. Freaky.
