The Shape of Things

by Thunderdude

Greetings and salutations,

For all fellow dudes who have suffered a broken heart at the mercy of an evil wench, I got a flick that will REALLY piss you off! In "The Shape of Things" starring Rachel Weisz and Paul Rudd, Adam (Rudd) is a nerdy  pudgy college student. While working one of his part time jobs as a security  guard, Adam meets art student Evelyn (Weisz) as she's about to spray-paint  graffiti on a statue for the sake of hippy artsy bullshit.

Somehow this pud musters up the courage to ask Evelyn out.  Flash forward to a few weeks later Adam has lost weight thanks to jogging  while he's been seeing Evelyn. This is only the beginning of his changes  that include clothing, hair and even face. Evelyn's charms and subtle  manipulation have profound effects on Adam, to the amazement and concern of  his arrogant and cooler best friend as well as his friend's fiancée.

As the film progresses the changes have an effect on Adam's  friend's fiancée, who starts to fancy Adam more and more. Suspicions abound,  feelings are hurt and friendships are put to the test leading up to a  shocking ending that shows how cold a person can be. Ladies, a tip: if you  want to be extra evil and cruel, dump your boyfriend right after watching  this movie with him.

Rachel Weisz devilishly shines in this movie while the rest of  the cast keep up pretty well. The ending slaps you in the face like a red  headed stepchild. The movie will create great discussions after when you  watch with your friends. This is also a movie that I will not soon forget.

For all these reasons I give this movie an A+.
