Our founder, Sir Bloody William Salutations, traveler of The Internets! Welcome to William's Bloody Hell, so named after our founder, Sir Bloody William. He is seen in the likeness above in a rare, 19th century woodcut. This image was rumoured to have been commissioned after a bout of unpleasantness in the White Chapel district of London. :: Today's soundtrack: She Wants Revenge "These Things" ::

Attention English speaking world: this is the last time I'm going to tell you. It's pronounced "ask" NOT "ax." For the love of all that is holy, KNOCK THAT SHIT OFF or I'm going to punch you all collectively in the face! You heard me. In the fucking face!! As if this weren't bad enough, it has leaked over into the pronunciation of "actually" to "axually." I could NOT believe that the first time I heard it. I thought maybe it was just the one guy, but no, it's a whole fleet of people!

Also, it is "gas" (as in gasoline) and NOT "gaz." I know we've never been formally introduced, but I heard you say "gaz" so now I despise you as a person. You are a horrible human being with children who will hear you say it this way and think it is correct and grow up saying it wrong. It is all your fault! YOURS!

This might be restricted to my region, but I also can't stand people who add in an "r" sound after vowels. People up here have a tendency to pronounce "idea" as "idea-er." I have no clue as to why this happens, but it makes no sense whatsoever!

You know, quite a few people have a problem with foreigners who have little English skill when they come the United States. They say "you're in an English speaking country, so you should learn to speak English!" Don't you realize you're making it increasingly difficult for them to comply when you keep changing how you yourself say the language when you're around them? How can you expect someone whose second language is English be expected to speak it properly when someone whose ONLY language is English can't even manage it?!

When did enunciation and diction go down the toilet? When did people stop saying "twenty" and begin saying "twenny"? Well, until I can find who specifically is to blame, I'm just going to take out my rage on the perpetrators around me until they smarten up. That guy you just passed on the street who was rubbing the side of his face? I heard him say "fuhgedabowdit!" and decided his skull needed to feel like the inside of my ears did. You could be next.

William (It's chowdah! Say it right!)
