Our founder, Sir Bloody William Salutations, traveler of The Internets! Welcome to William's Bloody Hell, so named after our founder, Sir Bloody William. He is seen in the likeness above in a rare, 19th century woodcut. This image was rumoured to have been commissioned after a bout of unpleasantness in the White Chapel district of London. ::Today's soundtrack: Trans X "Living on Video" ::

After the sever downer that was last week's rant (as seen HERE), I figure we could all use a good pick me up. Therefore, it is once again time to explore some really fun and nifty music videos! Who doesn't like fun and nifty music videos? No one, that's who! Well, maybe that one guy, but he doesn't like anything except Life cereal. Onward!

Bjork "It's Oh So Quiet". This video really shows off Bjork's adorable Icelandic pixie side. It's got a fun and goofy Broadway appeal going for it, what with the synchronized dance numbers which get more and more involved every time one starts up (up to and including a Busby Berkeley sort of bit with some umbrellas) that in the end even the scenery starts getting in on the wackiness of it all. Sit back and smile at this one:

Aquabats "Fashion Zombies". One hilarious video about kids who are slaves to fashion. But, what happens when the goths, new wavers, designer preppies, and nerdy types all meet in a dark alley? Why, it's a make over show down of course! Hilarity with a super cool soundtrack.

Calabrese "Voices of the Dead". A new generation of horror punk gives us the three Calabrese brothers and this delightful and catchy tune. Love it even more for the wicked video that pays homage to old black and white horror films and a very notable homage to the works of Ed Wood and particularly Plan 9 From Outer Space.

Lordi "Hard Rock Hallelujah". This video features an outcast high school girl who pauses to watch the cheerleaders and (presumably) imagine life as popular (good gravy do I love hot outcast girls). When suddenly, the school gym is overthrown with the awesomeness that is Lordi who cast some sort of enchantment over the cheerleaders who collapse only to rise again as the undead servants of the outcast girl who sic them upon the schools jerk crowd. Bonus: also only video (and song) to feature the word "arockalypse" thereby becoming one of the spine-meltingly most metal things you have ever heard in your life.

Erasure "A Little Respect". A 1980s classic from UK pop duo Erasure. The video is just plain silliness and fun, with the two of them acting out the lyrics literally across the bottom of the screen. You can spot a couple of places where they are having such a good time they are about to crack up themselves.  Unfortunately, the only decent video I could find has a ginormous logo across the bottom which sucks ass.

"Weird Al" Yankovic "Trapped in the Drive-Thru". A wonderfully clever parody (aren't they all?) of R Kelley's "Trapped in the Closet." I almost fell over at the funniness. Nice animation, too.

Nevershoutnever! "On the Brightside". Such a simple yet loverly song. Hear it once and be singing it all day, everyday. The video is also simply animated, but has cute little flourishes with the characters' actions here and there. Cute and catchy: a deadly combo!

As with any of my post to utilize external links, I cross my fingers that they are still active when you choose to click on them. That finicky YouTube especially has a penchant for pulling videos every now and again. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed these as I do and that they helped to brighten your day, particularly if yours is as holiday besieged as mine have been of late.
