Our founder, Sir Bloody William Salutations, traveler of The Internets! Welcome to William's Bloody Hell, so named after our founder, Sir Bloody William. He is seen in the likeness above in a rare, 19th century woodcut. This image was rumoured to have been commissioned after a bout of unpleasantness in the White Chapel district of London. Do enjoy your stay and peruse our many, varied offerings, much of which cannot be found elsewhere!

:: Today's soundtrack: New Order "Round & Round" ::

I was eating dinner at a fancy restaurant a little while ago. It was one of those nice place that has an "event" room in it that people can rent out for things, and in this case it was a wedding reception. Now I have been to a couple of weddings in the last few years, and I guess being removed from it this time just made me realize that I have to do the world a favor and spread this message: If you or someone you know is planning on holding a wedding reception, please, do yourself a favor and come up with a complete and comprehensive play list for your DJ!

I've noticed time and time again that nearly EVERY reception plays the same gosh darn music! EVERY ONE of them! So, if you want your celebration to stand out as a truly personalized event, please tell your DJ exactly what you want. Make SURE you're looking at him square in the eye and let him know you're serious!! In case you don't know what I'm talking about, here is a short list of songs which should heretofore be banned from all wedding receptions:

Butterfly Kisses

Lady in Red

Mambo No. 5

The Macarena

The Electric Slide

The Hokey Pokey

Swing the Mood

The Twist

Brown Eyed Girl

anything by AC/DC

Don't Stop Believing

or anything else by Journey for that matter

I Can't Fight This Feeling

Funky Town

Freak Out

Candle in the Wind

The Way You Look Tonight

Wind Beneath My Wings

You Are So Beautiful

This I Promise You

(Everything I Do) I Do it for You

I Will Always Love You

C'est La Vie

Okay, there are bound to be a few exceptions, like if you and your loved one just happened to meet at an AC/DC concert, then fine, you two may want to commemorate the night with ALL AC/DC tunes. What I'm saying is, your wedding and reception should reflect the personal tastes of you and your spouse, not the compilation of generic tunes sitting in milk crates in your DJ's van.
