Our founder, Sir Bloody William Salutations, traveler of The Internets! Welcome to William's Bloody Hell, so named after our founder, Sir Bloody William. He is seen in the likeness above in a rare, 19th century woodcut. This image was rumoured to have been commissioned after a bout of unpleasantness in the White Chapel district of London. :: Today's soundtrack:  Talking Heads "Once In A Lifetime" ::

I guess the downside to all the "reminiscing" I did last week, is that it also drew my attention to my current state of affairs.

It's just this odd feeling, looking back at all of those things you remember from your youth, and then you sink back to the here and now, look around, and go, "Fuck!" One minute, you're over at your buddy's house playing Super Mario 3 in your brain, and the next, your in your own home, that you have to pay your own mortgage on, and it's like, what the Hell happened? I have a house! I have to pay for it! I have my own car! I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT! I have a full time job! I have to pay taxes! I have my own health insurance!! I have to vote! I have to PAY for insurance on my house, car and life!! Some body save me!

Yeah, they never said life was easy, and every time a was in high school and somebody said "youth is wasted on the young" I wanted to smack them, but when did my life take THIS turn? How did all that time it seemed I had in front of me, seemingly melt away?

I'm an honest to goodness adult! I AM!! How did it happen so damn fast? Where was I? What was I doing?

What am I trying to say here? Gosh, I don't know. But, whomever you are, stop for a moment and realize just where you're at right now. Just make a mental note. The next time you you pause and look at yourself, remember how and who you are right now. See how much time has passed. Just try not to let sneak up on you, like it did me. Take stock of your life and see if the journey from the now to the then is worth it, and make sure it is. Looking back with no regrets is rare indeed, and if you can make a note of that now, before you get there, you'll do yourself a favor. What's come over me? I couldn't tell you. Let's just say that for me, the from there to here is too much of a congealed blur to suit me. I would have done well to, as they say, stop and smell the roses.

William (grew up too fast)
