We have an interview coming in off the port bow! It seems that Gossamer has been quietly stalking this site for months and has finally dared to try an interview swap! Who is Gossamer you ask? Why Gossamer is a red, heart shaped monster that loves to travel and tell us all about it in the Gossamer's Travels blog (usually with loads of photos!). I always knew monsters led such INteresting lives.... why I was just saying to my girlfriend the other day, "I bet monsters lead such INteresting lives." I bet they get to bet loads of INteresting people, and hey, turns out one of those IN teresting people was ME. Here are the five questions I asked Gossamer about his travels.

Question 1: Now that you've been to London, are there any plans to make to Athens any time soon?
It’s funny that you mentioned that! I just started on a hue plan so I can go back to London by this time next year. It’s another Study Abroad program but I’ll have more freedom than the one I went on. During my stay, I plan to take full advantage of my student benefits and travel while living there. One of the stops on top of my list is Athens! The main problem is of course money! I’m using the next year to do two of the following things: First, I will be training a replacement. Not to brag, but I am pretty awesome at my job. I have been with a family-owned bakery for almost 4 years and invented many of the methods we use to decorate. I adore the people I work for and just want to make sure my replacement knows what they are doing. Second, I am saving every single penny I get! I have a lot of huge plans for next year and it will not be cheap. The last thing I want to do is get a job while I'm trying to enjoy myself.

Question 2: You often talk about the various foods you have eaten while traveling; what and where was your favourite?
I really regret I do not know the name of my favorite place. It was a bakery in a small town in Germany called Geroldshausen. I used to live there and my mother often brought home some of the best deserts. I'm pretty sure everything there was soaked in rum. My favorite was just a simple sweet bread that was sprinkled with rum and powdered sugar. It was fantastic. Last I heard, the place shut down since the military moved out.

Question 3: Name one city on each of the six continents (not counting Antarctica, of course) that you would love to travel to but have yet to do so.
This list was a lot harder to come up with than I originally thought! I had to do some soul searching in order to come up with the final answers.
1. Nairobi, Kenya, Africa- It was where my father was born!
2. Singapore, Asia- A friend of mine has talked non-stop about Singapore and has convinced me I should go to.
3. Melbourne, Australia - Honestly, I would probably be happy anywhere in Australia. This just happens to be where a friend lives.
4. Athens, Greece, Europe - A childhood dream!
5. Quebec, Canada, North America. - This one was the easiest. They have an Ice Hotel that I've dreamed of going to for years.
6. Machu Picchu, Peru, South America - This was the hardest. I ended up just grabbing a traveling book I had, opened a random page, and picked the first place I saw.

Question 4: You have mentioned going to ComicCon and Red Vs. Blue, etc, so does this mean that you are in fact a geek of some kind? What draws you to conventions?
It is no secret that I am a huge geek of all sorts. I gravitate towards anything sci-fi or video game related like a magnet! Conventions are a whole other universe and life cycle that people often overlook. My first convention was working for a friend and her family. During slow periods, I would watch all the vendors talking to each other, buying stuff, and re-selling the stuff they just bought in their own booth. All the vendors have this common bond and unique way of interacting with each other. It was fascinating to watch. Lately, I've been going mostly as regular guest, but I will jump at any chance to volunteer again. Also, I get a lot of free stuff for being a Geek Girl and talking sweet!

Question 5: So, you were in the UK but failed to see any Banksy art? Are you disappointed?
I was disappointed for a while that I did not see any Banksy art. Now, I see it as another reason to go back to London. BUT I won't stop there! His art has been seen in many other cities and I plan to scout them all out. He and his work can't hide from me forever.

There you have it, kiddos. If you would like to read the five questions Gossamer asked ME about MY travels, then you can read them over at Gossamer's blog HERE. But really, if you're interested in travelling and the good food that can found therein, you ought just check out Gossamer's Travels in general. Because it's fun, cute, has pictures, and talks about things which are delicious. So there.

This has been an Interview Swap. Want to give it a try for yourself? HERE'S HOW.
